ESSENTIAL PRINCIPLES

These are the rules that make up my Feng Shui and Organizing philosophy. Use them as your guide as you begin to organize and beautify your space.

1. Organize for Comfort and Convenience
An organized environment needn't be sterile or overly neat. In fact, the key to its success is comfort: it should work for the way you live and/or work, and reflect your personality and style.

2. Organize Intuitively
A well-organized space dovetails perfectly with the way your mind works. If you find that you're using the same item repeatedly, put it in a place that is convenient, accessible and comfortable - for you.

3. Keep It Simple With Three Key Questions
Getting organized means facing some tough, sometimes emotional, decisions. Make the sorting and purging process easier by asking yourself three key questions about each item in front of you:

  1. Is it useful?
  2. Is it beautiful?
  3. Do I love it?
Keep only the things that are useful, beautiful, or especially meaningful to you. It's that simple.

When you set up your home or office using these principles, you'll reduce clutter, improve the flow and comfort of your space, and create a place that is uniquely your own.
